SUSD Bag Guidelines
Posted by SUSD Communications on 5/1/2023
NO BAGS …
These words seem so simple, yet cause so much confusion. Almost all large crowd events, from sports to concerts, limit what individuals can bring in to either a very small bag or a clear bag. Scottsdale Unified School District implemented this policy at our high schools at the start of the school year and at our middle schools for the second semester. This guideline remains in effect and will be enforced at all of our high school graduation ceremonies, and into next year.
The NO BAG guideline is just that. PLEASE, do not bring a bag to our events. If you must bring a bag, it must be clear. This is for the safety of all the staff, students and participants at whatever event you are attending. There are a few small exceptions to the rule, such as a diaper bag; however, if you bring a diaper bag, you must have a baby with you who would use those diapers.
Please pack your patience - for which no bag is required! - when you come to our events, for there may be a line. As we celebrate the tremendous achievements of our students, please remember to bring your smiles and hugs, but leave everything else home.
Safety is the district’s top priority, and while it may be inconvenient, it will help ensure that everyone goes home safely.
