Desert Mountain High School's Ayva Kacir named U.S. Presidential Scholar
Posted by SUSD Communications on 5/24/2022
As we make our way through each school year, we become familiar with certain outstanding students. For the second time in three months, we celebrate Ayva Kacir from Desert Mountain High School’s Class of 2022.
Back in February, she was named one of five Arizona students by state school superintendent, Kathy Hoffman, to represent the state for U.S. Presidential Scholar program recognition for her achievements in Career and Technical Education. She has since been recognized as one of just 20 distinguished high school seniors in the entire nation in CTE!
Application for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is by invitation only. Students chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars receive a Presidential medallion and are invited to take part in the National Recognition Program in Washington, D.C. in June. But even more significantly, Ayva will have the opportunity to make lifelong connections with some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
