Letter to Parents from our Guidance Counselors

Dear Mohave Families,

We hope this email finds you and your family safe and healthy.

Scottsdale school district and state leadership has made the difficult but brave decision to close our schools, which means that our Mohave counseling team is not available in person. However, we as a team are still working daily to make every effort to continue to support our students, families and greater communities. During this uncertain time we will be available via email and via zoom video meeting if needed.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with anything that may be on your mind.

While we currently cannot interact and provide the support we would like in person, we as a team are committed to providing as much support as we can virtually. If you need anything or have questions, please email us and we will respond as soon as possible.  If you or your child need to speak to us  "in person" we can set up a video meeting through Zoom. We plan to be available Monday-Friday from 7:30-2:30, but if you have needs outside the school day, please let us know.

Todd Kemmerer (Mr. K) works with students with last names starting with L-Z and Lisa Balthazor (Mrs. B) works with students with last names starting with A-K, although this is not set in stone.  There are times when boys and girls feel more comfortable speaking with a counselor of the same-sex and we are both open to speaking with any of our Mohave students and families by email or virtually through zoom.

Starting next Friday, Mohave will have a "Feel Good Friday" blog.  Please encourage your child to take a look at the blog.  It will be packed with social and emotional support and resources, fun activities for your child to do at home, video snippets of classmates and more.

If you need to email our team, below are the email addresses:

Lisa Balthazor-(Guidance counselor A-K)

Todd Kemmerer-(Guidance counselor L-Z)

Yadira Flores-(School psychologist)

Laura Race-(Community specialist)

We are here for you so please feel free to utilize us.  Stay safe and stay Mighty Mohave families,

Mr. K and Mrs. B
