Dear Desert Canyon Middle School Families,

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) released the A-F Letter Grades for the 2018-2019 school year at the direction of the State Board of Education. According to the ADE, A-F letter grades are based on student academic growth from year to year, scores on the statewide assessment, and indicators that a student is ready for success at the next level.

Desert Canyon Middle School’s A-F Letter grade is:

What does each letter grade mean? “A” (excellent): Distinguished performance on the statewide assessment, significant student growth, high four-year graduation rates, students on track to proficiency; overall performance is significantly higher than state average.

We are very proud of all the hard work our staff and students put into earning this grade. I am happy to say that our students are learning at the highest levels and are prepared for a positive High School experience. I believe this is just the beginning as the staff and I work toward increasing Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships for all students.
