What are the age requirements?
Pre-K (4s): Any student enrolling in Pre-K must be four (4) years old on or before August 31st in the school year for which you are applying and must be potty-trained.
Preschool (3s): Any student enrolling in Preschool must be three (3) years old on or before August 31st in the school year for which you are applying and must be three before they start. Students must be potty-trained.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?
Yes, children will need to be potty-trained. No Pull-ups will be allowed.

Is transportation provided?
No, parents must provide transportation for all Community Ed and Title l Early Learning programs.

What about the District Boundaries?
- Community Education Early Learning programs have no district boundary restrictions
- Title I Pre-K and combo 3-4 year old programs require the student live within the SUSD boundary of a Title I Elementary school

Can parents enroll at any Title I school other than their home school?

Can parents who live outside of a Title I Elementary school but live within the SUSD District boundaries enroll?
No

Can I choose what school my child attends?
Yes, but programs are contingent upon enrollment and eligibility.

Can I enroll a child who qualifies for kindergarten?
- Community Ed Pre-K does accept students who are eligible for Kindergarten
- Title l Pre-K does not accept students who are eligible for Kindergarten

How much is Preschool/Pre-K?
- Community Education Preschool and Pre-K is $674 for a block of 18 school days and Gifted Pre-K is $795 for a block of 18 school days.
- A $75 non-refundable registration fee, along with the first block payment, is due at registration.
- Block payments are due by the first of the month. A $25 late fee will be applied to all accounts with outstanding balances after the due date. Students will be withdrawn from a program due to non-payment after 3 business days.
- Title l Pre-K free all-day instruction for four-year-old students that live within the SUSD boundaries of a Title I elementary school.

Is there a sibling discount?
No

Is there an employee discount?
A 20% discount is available on the monthly tuition for all SUSD employees.
Per IRS Publication 15-B Employer’s Tax Guide to Fringe Benefits – employees are eligible for up to a 20% discount but anything beyond that, per the IRS, is a taxable wage.

Do I need to pay a registration fee for Preschool/Pre-K?
- Community Education Pre-K programs have an annual registration fee per child
- Title l Pre-K programs do not have a registration fee

Do Preschool/Pre-K programs follow the SUSD District calendar?
Yes.

What are the hours for Preschool/Pre-K?
Hours are consistent with the Elementary school it is located in.

Is there before and after care for Preschool/Pre-K programs?
- Preschool/Pre-K students are eligible for Kids Club provided their school offers it.
