    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Sept. 15, 2020) – The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) is now able to distribute federally subsidized student meals at no cost to all children under the age of 18, regardless of whether they live in the District or are enrolled in an SUSD school.

(Sept. 10, 2020) – The Governing Board of the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) voted unanimously yesterday to begin phasing students back to school campuses beginning Sept. 21 with Kindergarten, first and second grades going first. Third, fourth and fifth grade students can return starting Sept. 29, followed by middle school and high schools on Oct. 12, after SUSD’s annual fall break the week of Oct. 5.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 20, 2020) – New principals have been named to lead two Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) schools in the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Cain Jagodzinski is Arcadia High School’s new principal; Christopher Hodo will be principal of Pima Traditional School. The appointments were approved by the SUSD Governing Board at its May 19 Regular Meeting, after a collaborative selection process that included feedback from Arcadia and Pima parents, teachers, staff and the community.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 14, 2020) – Families in need will be able to receive free meals for children ages 1 – 18 through Wednesday, June 24. The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) Nutrition Services Department is expanding its service to both extend the program for five weeks after the last day of school and to expand the amount of food provided at each weekly distribution.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 5, 2020) – Thirty-seven members of Scottsdale Unified School District’s Class of 2020 are among the first recipients of the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)’s new State Seal of Arts Proficiency. The seal recognizes and celebrates graduating seniors’ high levels of achievement in meeting the ADE’s Arizona Arts Education Standards. The seal was established last year by the Arizona Legislature and signed into law by Governor Doug Ducey.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (May 1, 2020) – On October 1, 2019, the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board voted unanimously to name Kiva Elementary School, 6911 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, the sixth school to be renovated as part of a 2016 voter-approved Bond proposal. Kiva was recommended at the September 17, 2019 Governing Board as the next school in line for rebuilding/renovation, following the District’s annual school capacity analysis.
