Open Enrollment Process

  • Open Enrollment process is an opportunity for students who reside outside of Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) boundaries to enroll in Scottsdale Unified schools, based on availability. Students who live within SUSD boundaries may also use open enrollment to change from their home school. To start the process for open enrollment, fill out the Open Enrollment application listed below. Arizona state law allows students to apply for admission to any public school through open enrollment, based on available classroom space (A.R.S. § 15-816.01).

    Acceptance is based on the school’s grade-level and program capacity, and meeting all admission requirements. 

    SUSD has four "Schools of Choice" (Cheyenne, Echo Canyon, Pueblo, and Scottsdale Online Learning)  with no geographic boundaries for enrollment. To enroll in these schools, all families must apply through open enrollment.
