Gifted Advisory Committee 

Purpose

SUSD’s Gifted Department is seeking input from stakeholders – administrators, teachers, and parents – to review its current practices and services, and to guide the design, creation, and implementation of dynamic programming to best meet the diverse and unique academic and social emotional needs of our district’s gifted learners from Pre-K - 12th grade.  

Objectives

The GAC will:

  • Advise the Gifted Department on its vision & goals
    • Create Short and Long-Term Programming Plans
  • Provide feedback on current programming from various perspectives
  • Discuss best ways to gather feedback from stakeholders
  • Review communications from the Gifted department

Time Commitment

  1. Review committee meeting agendas and assigned materials prior to each meeting.
  2. Be willing to participate as an unpaid volunteer.
    • Eligible certified employees may receive horizontal move hours for committee meetings occurring after the school day.
  1. Attend and actively participate in all committee meetings from January through May 2023 from 3:45 - 5:00 at the MDA. Dates are listed below:
