Bond and Override Oversight Committee

Purpose

The SUSD Bond and Override Oversight Committee serves to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective use of funds approved by voters through bond measures and budget overrides.

Objectives

  • Financial Oversight – Monitors how bond and override funds are allocated and spent, ensuring compliance with voter-approved initiatives.
  • Accountability & Transparency – Provides regular updates to the community, school board, and stakeholders on the progress and impact of funded projects.
  • Project Review – Evaluates whether projects funded by bonds and overrides align with the district’s strategic goals and educational priorities.
  • Compliance Assurance – Ensures expenditures comply with legal and policy requirements, reducing the risk of mismanagement.
  • Public Engagement – Acts as a liaison between the district and the community, fostering trust by demonstrating responsible stewardship of public funds.
