Kiva Elementary School

Kiva Elementary School

On October 1, 2019, the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board voted unanimously to name Kiva Elementary School, 6911 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, the sixth school to be renovated as part of a 2016 voter-approved Bond proposal.

Kiva was built in 1957 as a K-8 school. It was recommended for rebuilding/renovation based on the findings of the District’s annual school capacity analysis. In March 2020, Principal Alice Spingola named a 23-member Visioning Committee to represent Kiva’s community of parents, teachers, staff and neighbors in the collaborative process of re-imagining the school’s campus. At a future date, the SUSD Governing Board will be asked to consider a proposed project design, budget and timeline.
