Barrow's Neurological Institute Scientific Enrichment Program
The Barrows Neurological Institute of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is seeking outstanding high school SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS for the Health Scientific Enrichment Program, a high school program for volunteer research assistants. This an extremely prestigious and sought after program. Only students interested in working in a laboratory environment AND only students and families willing to make the long term commitment to the program need apply. Please read all the material attached to understand the program.
To be considered for recommendation by the Desert Mountain Scholarship Review Committee, please submit the following no later than September 15th. Those DM students that are selected will have additional requirements including application and letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor who can attest to your scientific aptitude. (Plan ahead)
1. Read the attached policies and procedures and SUMMARIZE in ONE PARAGRAPH the requirements, noting that you and your parent/guardian understand the level of commitment this program requires of participants. Include your signature and your parent/guardian’s signature at the end of the paragraph.
2. A one page letter describing why you are interested in participating in this program.
All materials should be submitted to Mrs. Loftus in the College and Career by September 15th at 8 am.
This is a strict deadline and failure to meet this and provide all requirement will disqualify students from consideration.
