Snacks and Cell Phones!
We have added a Nutrition Period between 2nd and 3rd period classes. That will allow students time to enjoy an easy-to-eat healthy snack!
All cell phones must be on silent mode and put away in the student’s backpack during class time. This change is intended to remove the distraction from the instructional setting. The only exception to this expectation is if the teacher utilizes cellphones for an instructional activity. To support students through this significant change, students will be given a warning to store their phones appropriately. If cellphone use continues, students will be asked to place their phone in the new phone bags provided in each classroom until the end of the class period. Students will still have access to their devices during passing periods and lunch.
Note: due to the new phone practice, we ask that students and parents make their best efforts to communicate plans and appointments ahead of time. In an emergency, front office staff can call into the classroom; however, we prefer to avoid disruptions to instructional time as much as possible. If a student needs to leave campus early (ex: for an appointment), they should report to the Attendance Office at the necessary time to meet their parents and sign out.
