CHAPARRAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION 2019
Chaparral’s graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at ASU Wells Fargo Arena, in Tempe.
Graduates need to take care of the following tasks –
Pick up pre-ordered cap and gown at the Bookstore. If you still need to order a cap and gown, contact Jostens at (602-765-7227).
Continue to stay in contact with your counselor and teachers to ensure you are on track for graduation.
Attend class every day and arrive on time.
Complete the Senior Survey in Naviance. You can find the survey on Naviance, under the “About Me” tab.
All requirements/financial obligations (i.e. grades, credits, test compliances, fees, and return of library books and textbooks) need to be completed, or seniors will not be eligible to participate in the ceremony. Diplomas will only be issued to seniors who have met all the graduation requirements.
22 Credits are required to participate in the commencement ceremony –
Final transcripts are sent via Naviance, only if Senior Surveys are complete. Seniors are required to complete and submit the 2019 Senior Survey by May 3, 2019. One of the questions is, “What are your plans after high school?” If you are attending a post-secondary institution, you must state where you would like your final transcript sent; this is the only way we will know where to send it. If you do not complete the survey, we cannot send your transcript.
If you require transcripts after graduation, you will need to order them through www.parchment.com.
Wednesday, May 22 –
The Honors Assembly will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Further information and instructions will be sent via a separate mailing to graduates who are in the top 10%, receiving an in-state academic scholarship, and/or an outstanding senior award.

In addition to the clear bag policy, there is an added security measure this year, metal detectors. All participants and attendees will have to pass through the metal detector at the entrance.
Graduation Tickets –
Good news! There will be NO admission charge for those wanting to attend graduation this year. Before spring break, we notified parents tickets would be $20 each. However, the District and ASU worked out an agreement eliminating the need to charge admission, as well as the tickets for entry.
Project Grad –
Students will leave for Project Grad directly from the arena. Please bring a change of clothes with you, so you can change after the ceremony. Because of the clear bag policy, graduates will need to meet up with their parents to retrieve their clothes and give them their diploma. Don’t forget your closed-toed shoes as they are mandatory to participate.
Locker Clean Out, May 29 -
May 29 is the last day to clean out Lockers!! Remaining items will be collected, discarded or donated when school is out.
