Understand your scores
Click this link to view a short video from College Board. The PSAT is used as a benchmark for college readiness. You can greatly benefit from using this test to improve your academic skills and study to prepare for taking the SAT. Remember improving your test scores will only benefit you. Improving your scores can increase your chances of getting into your top colleges, and could increase the merit scholarship awarded to you by our AZ colleges and many out of state schools.
Use your scores
College Board has partnered with The Khan Academy to offer an official, online SAT practice course Use THIS LINK to set up personalized study recommendations for FREE!
All juniors (only) will take the ACT at Arcadia High School on February 20. No sign up required, it's paid for by the school district and can be sent to universities in your senior year. The scores can also be used to help you determine which test is better for you, the SAT (PSAT is very similiar) or the ACT, and it can be used as a baseline for FREE study. Look here
Sophomores who are at the top of their class academically and had a high score may also consider preparing for the SAT and testing early. For these students, studying in the summer and taking the test in the fall can ease their junior year. They will also want to be sure and sign up next fall to take the PSAT again for National Merit consideration.
Finally, if you have questions or need help, please see your counselor or visit Jacque Stauff in the Arcadia High School College and Career Center.
