The Farmyard CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Garden Give Back Program for Schools makes it easy for parents to earn money for the school’s gardening program and all while receiving fresh produce and eggs for your family from local urban farmers.
Parents simply sign up for a 10 Week Produce Basket Subscription and Farmyard will donate a portion of the proceeds to the gardening program at your school. This is a donation that builds so the more people that sign up, the more money the school can earn. The donation potential is UNLIMITED!
Advantages for you or your family joining a CSA:
• Your produce is peaked at its’ PEAK ripeness and is packed full of nutrients when it arrives.
• Exposes you to new vegetables and new recipes for cooking a variety of produce.
• Learn how to eat seasonally when produce is at its height in flavor.
• Develop a relationship directly with your farmer and learn about how your food is grown.
• All produce is grown organically with no pesticides or herbicides
Produce Basket Sizes Available: Half Share – 1 -2 people Full Share – 2-3 people or 1 vegetarian Family Size – 3-5 people Here are some of the things that are in baskets now or will be over the Fall/Winter season: Veggies: Beets, Carrots, Fennel, Green Beans, Tomatillos, Green Onions, Eggplant, Cabbages, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Leeks, Kohlrabi, Winter Squash (butternut, spaghetti, acorn), Chile Peppers (green chili, jalapeno,), Garlic, Radishes, Turnips, Summer Squashes (zucchini in green or gold, yellow crookneck, scallopini), Sweet Yellow Onions, Sweet Potatoes, Red and Yukon Gold Potatoes, Dry Beans (Pinto & Black), and more! Greens: Arugula, Salad Mix,Mesclun Mix, Romaine & Butter Lettuces, Kale, Sorrel, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Mustard Greens Herbs: Garlic Chives, Oregano, Rosemary, Basil, Sage Don’t forget there will citrus fruits in baskets as well (Oranges, Tangerines, Grapefruit, Limes, Lemons) Please contact Sarah at Farmyard with any questions at 602-954-1440 (office) or 480-212-6431 (cell)
