For 17 years, Cherokee, Cochise, Sequoya, & Cocopah have been making the holidays brighter for the students of Bethune Elementary School.

From Dawn Baumgartner, Bethune Social Worker:

Bethune is part of the Phoenix Elementary School District #1. We are located one block south of Buckeye Road on 15th Avenue. We are the home school to about 500 PreK-8th graders. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school, which means a significant number of our families’ incomes fall far below the Federal Poverty Guideline. Many of our families have unstable home situations; some are homeless. In past years when your schools assisted our families, many parents and children told me that the gift they received from you was the only holiday gift they received. Our students were so excited and grateful to see Santa and get their gifts and our parents were amazed by your schools willingness to give so generously. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

How can you participate in this wonderful program?

Stop by the office and pick an Angel tag (you choose: boy or girl & grade level),

sign it out, purchase a gift ($25-$30), wrap it (in a gift bag), attach the tag, and drop it off in the Cochise office by Wednesday, December 13th.

  1. Shop for the “basics” (see suggestions on back; footballs, basketballs, board games, Lego, etc.)   Please include batteries if necessary.
  2. No clothes or gift cards.
  3. Spend approx. $25 per student. Gift may be more than 1 item, but $30 max.
  4. ATTACH the angel gift tag to the wrapped gift. Please use gift bags as it makes it easier for the student to get their gift home.
  5. Turn in to the collection box in the Cochise office by WED, DEC 13th.

Your generosity & participation mean so much to the children of Bethune!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Happy Holidays!
