SUSD Statement Regarding DACA Decision
September 6, 2017
Dear Scottsdale Unified Community,
Many Arizona families have questions in the wake of yesterday’s decision regarding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The Scottsdale Unified School District’s first obligation is to educate your children, and that mission has not changed. As always, we are committed to providing a safe learning environment for every student, and our focus remains on ensuring all individual learners reach their full potential.
The DACA decision will not take effect for six months. During that time, federal lawmakers will be looking for legislative solutions. We will be following the issue closely and communicating with our Scottsdale families.
We remain focused on education and committed to serving all students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
