Early Kindergarten Entrance Testing is Now Available
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (March 25, 2019) – Testing is now available for early entrance into the Scottsdale Unified School District’s free, all-day kindergarten for the school year that begins Aug. 5, 2019. This is an opportunity for parents of a child born between Sept. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2014 to see if their child qualifies to start school one year early.
To request testing, parents should visit susd.org/CommunityEd to fill out the Early Entrance Assessment Screening form. The cost to administer the screening, which takes place the third weeks of June and July, is $85.
The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) has 19 elementary schools serving the Phoenix-Scottsdale metro area, all of which offer free, all-day kindergarten. Qualifying schools offer free before- and after-school care.
The District has two Dual Language Immersion programs: Desert Canyon Elementary School’s Mandarin Language program is only open to kindergarteners; the Spanish Language program at Pueblo Elementary is school-wide.
