SUSD Governing Board Elects President, Vice President
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (January 12, 2018) The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) Governing Board has elected its 2018 officers. Barbara Perleberg will continue to serve as President, and Kim Hartmann will step up as the new Vice President. The reorganization took place at the Governing Board’s January 11 study session.
“I am passionately dedicated to the student-focused vision for our District the Governing Board has defined this past year,” said Perleberg. “Seeing the incredible work being done at our schools, under instructional leadership that is more engaged and informed than ever before, has brought confidence that we are headed in the right direction. It is an honor to continue serving as Board President as we move forward in our commitment to each and every learner reaching their full potential in SUSD.”
This will be Perleberg’s second year leading the Board. She previously served as Vice President.
“I am honored to serve the district as SUSD Governing Board Vice President,” said Kim Hartmann. “I appreciate the confidence of my fellow board members. I look forward to a year focused on continued academic achievement. Through building new 21st century schools and attracting, developing and retaining the very best educators, we will continue to live the SUSD values of being student-focused, responsive, humble and growth-minded.”
Hartmann was nominated by 2017 Vice President and past Board President, Pam Kirby. The votes for President and Vice President were unanimous.
