At its regular board meeting on October 16, 2018, the SUSD Governing Board voted unanimously to redevelop Cherokee Elementary School.

January 16, 2019 Meeting: Cherokee Visioning Committee. #1

This committee, appointed by the Cherokee principal, will work between Community Forum meetings on the details of the Cherokee project.  It will be comprised of Cherokee parents, neighbors, teachers and staff.

It is anticipated that the Visioning Committee will require a commitment of approximately 1.5 hours every two weeks, tapering off significantly after four months, when the architects will start developing the project's plans.

To volunteer for the Visioning Committee, interest forms are available in the school office.  Please complete and return to the school or email it to Principal Chantler no later than January 15, 2019.  The first meeting will take place the following day, January 16.

December 11, 2018 — SUSD Governing Board selects Phoenix-based Orcutt Winslow as project architect. 

October 16, 2018 — SUSD Governing Board voted to redevelop Cherokee Elementary School with voter-approved bonds.
