I know that in order to be an effective educator I need to be a life-long learner. Throughout all of my years in education I have been a collaborator working with others on launching two high schools, one in the Bronx, and one in Sedona. Both emphasized integrated curriculum, and performance based assessments. From there I was a district curriculum director, and following that a k-8 principal for a decade combined. I promote a tone of decency at school, and I enjoy carrying out our collective vision of our students working to their highest potential as individuals and within groups, on the field, in the classroom, on the stage, in the studio and even at lunch! I enjoy hiking, museums, cooking and my family.

I am thrilled to return to Desert Mountain High School as the 9th grade Assistant Principal.  I have worked in education for 9 years, and 5 of those years have been in SUSD.  I began my career in education as a Special Education teacher at Ingleside Middle School, and then I transitioned to Desert Mountain. I have 4 years of administrative experience, 2 years as the 9th grade Assistant Principal at DMHS and more recently 2 years as the Assistant Principal in the Madison School District.  I am also a Desert Mountain alumna, so I am so happy to be back at the mountain.

I reside in the North Phoenix Area with my husband Jeremy and my 10-month-old daughter Jade.  My family and I love to travel, go to concerts, and attend sports games in our free time.  I look forward to working with the Desert Mountain community and creating great memories this school year.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work at Desert Mountain as the Assistant Principal who oversees the Senior class. I have been an educator for over 20 years as a special education teacher, school counselor, and administrator. I love working with the seniors each year as they plan their next steps and ultimately graduate in May. I am also in charge of putting together the master schedule, and work closely with the counseling staff to make sure all students are supported and guided in their journey through High School. Additionally, if you come for a tour of DM, you will most likely have me as your tour guide. I really enjoy showing off our school so don’t hesitate to sign up for a tour. Go Wolves!
