School Resource Officers
School Resource Officers
The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) partners with three local law enforcement agencies to provide a police presence on campuses. Through the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, the District and Police Departments co-fund police positions specifically dedicated to the unique needs at schools.
The SROs are on campus in uniform with a patrol car to assist school officials with education, access to public services for students in need and an immediate link to the full resources of their corresponding police department at the touch of a button.
School Resource Officers in Arizona have a professional organization, the Arizona School Resource Officers Association, which provides a forum for schools across the state to benefit from the knowledge sharing and lessons learned on every campus.
