If it is believed that district testing does not reflect a child's abilities, families may pursue outside evaluation with a licensed professional.
Giftedness develops differently across students.
SUSD accepts results from state-approved gifted assessments that meet Arizona’s state guidelines may be submitted for consideration. Families considering testing privately should contact the Gifted & Accelerated Learning Department to confirm requirements before submitting results.
Outside Testing
Results from state-approved assessments that meet Arizona’s state guidelines may be submitted for consideration.
This can include, but isn't limited to:
- Other school districts.
- Private, charter, or online schools.
- Schools outside the state of Arizona.
If families have questions regarding testing completed with an outside provider, they should contact the Gifted & Accelerated Learning Department to confirm requirements.
