SUSD High School Summer School – Frequently Asked Questions
- Who can attend SUSD High School Summer School?
Summer school is open to currently enrolled SUSD students in grades 9–12, as well as students in grades 9–12 from other school districts.
- How to apply if you are not currently enrolled in SUSD?
To begin, please visit the Scottsdale Online Learning Enrollment page and complete an application for 2026–2027 summer school. Then you will register for courses through ARUX.
- How many classes can a student take?
Students may enroll in a maximum of two classes per session. Each course is worth 0.5 credit (one semester), allowing students to earn up to 1.0 total credit per session.

Attendance Policy
Due to the required number of instructional minutes being completed in a short timeframe, students may miss no more than one (1) day of class. Any student who misses more than one day will be dropped from the course—no exceptions.
- How do two-semester (full-year) classes work?
Each summer school session covers one semester (.5 credit).
- To earn one full credit, students must take:
Semester 1 during Session 1, and
Semester 2 during Session 2.
- How much does summer school cost?
The cost is $200 per .5-credit class (one semester).
**Please note: Due to the expiration of federal grants that subsidized summer school from 2020–2024, pricing has returned to the 2019 rate.
- Which classes are required for graduation?
Graduation requirements and eligible courses can be found in the SUSD High School Planning Guide 2025–2026.
- Are online classes available outside the United States?
No. SUSD-supported applications, including the e-Learning platform, are not accessible outside the United States.
- When does registration open?
Registration opens March 23, 2026 at midnight.
- How do students enroll and pay for summer school courses?
Students will need to register through ARUX. Please click here to view the instructions.
- Final Exams:
In-person classes: Finals are administered on the last day of each session.

- Graduating Seniors:
Students who complete all high school requirements and receive a diploma in May cannot participate in summer school, as they are no longer high school students.

- Nutritional Services
Lunch is available free of charge for in-person students.
Food delivery is not allowed.
- Online Classes
Classes are 100% asynchronous. Students have access to the entire course on day 1 and work independently.
Students must log in by the 2nd day of the session. Those who do not will be dropped from the class with no refund.
Students are expected to work independently to complete all assignments and assessments. Most will spend 4–5 hours per day online, though this may vary by class.
Finals: Students must complete all assignments before taking the final. They have 2 hours to complete it. The teacher is available via email or phone, but there is no live instruction.
Course access: Students receive an email the day before or morning of session start with login information. Online classes are accessible at https://susd.geniussis.com using student ID and eight-digit birthday (MMDDYYYY) as password.
- Is transportation provided for in-person summer school?
Yes. Transportation is available to and from Coronado for students attending in person from:
- Arcadia
- Chaparral
- Desert Mountain
- Saguaro

- Withdrawal Policy:
- Session 1 (May 28 – June 11, 2026)
- To receive a full refund, withdrawal must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
- To withdraw without a refund but avoid a WF (Withdraw Fail) or WP (Withdraw Pass) notation on the student’s transcript, withdrawal must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
- Session 2 (June 15 – June 30, 2026)
- To receive a full refund, withdrawal must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026.
- To withdraw without a refund but avoid a WF (Withdraw Fail) or WP (Withdraw Pass) notation on the student’s transcript, withdrawal must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
