Saguaro Junior Honored Globally as Top Indigenous Youth Changemaker 

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Saguaro High School junior Myson Galindo has earned a phenomenal national distinction, stepping into the spotlight as one of the country’s most promising young Indigenous leaders. 

Galindo, a proud member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, has officially been named to the prestigious UNITY 25 Under 25 national leadership class. Launched in 2014 by United National Indian Involvement (UNITY), this highly competitive national recognition program honors just 25 exceptional Native American and Alaska Native youth leaders from across Indian Country who embody the mission of living a balanced, purposeful life while nurturing their spiritual, mental, physical, and social well-being. 

A relentless advocate for his peers, Galindo currently serves as the Corresponding Secretary for the Young River People’s Council. His leadership journey already runs deep; he has previously stepped up as both Clerical Secretary and Treasurer for the council. From spearheading vibrant community mural projects and youth media initiatives to managing vital communications, Galindo has dedicated himself to creating positive, empowering spaces that uplift Native youth voices. 

As part of this elite national cohort, Galindo will serve a unique term where he will travel to UNITY-sponsored events and participate in advanced, vital leadership training designed to amplify his impact. 

The "25 Under 25" program is celebrated nationwide for empowering Native youth to take fierce pride in their identities and cultural contributions. By highlighting top tier changemakers like Galindo, UNITY builds strong national networks of collaboration across diverse tribes, serving as a powerful source of inspiration for future generations to pursue their passions and uplift their communities. 

With this major national milestone unlocked, Galindo is not just representing Saguaro High School or the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community on the big stage; he is actively shaping the future of youth leadership across the nation.
