Saguaro High School Names Jason Ronquillo Head Football Coach 

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (February 11, 2026) – Saguaro High School proudly announces the hiring of Jason Ronquillo as its new Head Football Coach, ushering in an exciting new era for Sabercat Football.

Coach Ronquillo brings a championship pedigree, a proven record of transforming programs, and a steadfast commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His leadership philosophy centers on excellence, accountability, and character. These values align seamlessly with the proud tradition of Saguaro High School.

Most recently, Ronquillo served as Head Football Coach at Yelm High School in Washington, where he orchestrated one of the most remarkable turnarounds in state history. In just five seasons, his teams compiled an extraordinary 51–5 overall record, advanced to back-to-back State Championship Games, and secured the 2022 Washington State Championship. Under his leadership, the program rose to national prominence and established a culture defined by discipline, resilience, and competitive excellence.

His achievements have earned widespread recognition, including being named the 2022 NFL Don Shula National Coach of the Year. He has also received multiple Conference Coach of the Year honors and accolades from state coaching associations and media organizations.

Beyond the wins and championships, Coach Ronquillo is known for his dedication to shaping young men of character. He views football as a powerful platform for teaching leadership, academic responsibility, teamwork, and lifelong skills. His programs emphasize hard work, cooperation, commitment, and genuine care for one another, principles that reflect the core values of the Sabercat community.
