Come See Why Families Choose Laguna Elementary at Annual Family STEAM Night
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (February 3, 2026) – Curious why families love Laguna Elementary School? Laguna invites families and community members to experience it all firsthand at its Annual Family STEAM Night, Thursday, February 5, from 5:00–6:30 PM.
This isn’t your average school event; it’s a high-energy, hands-on evening where classrooms turn into discovery zones and curiosity leads the way. Every grade level will host interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities, including making homemade ice cream, creating slime, exploring shadow puppetry, and more.
The school’s Makerspace will also be open, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how Laguna students from Pre-K through 5th grade engage in innovative learning with robotics, engineering, and STEM technology.
“STEAM Night is my favorite night of the year!” said Stephanie Shamy, Gifted Teacher at Laguna Elementary. “It's a special place where community partners come together with Laguna families and students to inspire our future innovators with hands-on experiences. It's a great opportunity to see how STEM relates to our real lives!”
This year’s event brings even more excitement, with special guests including Tesla, Desert Mountain High School Robotics, and DMHS STEM Kids, all joining Laguna students and staff to showcase creativity, problem-solving, and real-world connections.
“STEAM Night at Laguna is a hands-on community event that is free for the whole family to enjoy!” said Krisse Kelly, Proud Principal of Laguna Elementary. “We started it ten years ago and it continues to grow every year. Please mark your calendars and join us!”
Students agree, it’s a night you don’t want to miss.
“I love STEAM Night because it's a fun night with my family and you can learn new things about science!” said Miles Miller, a second-grade student at Laguna Elementary.
Laguna Elementary’s Annual Family STEAM Night is free and open to the community. Whether you’re a current family, a future family, or just curious, come see the action in person and discover why so many families choose Laguna Elementary.
