Curriculum

The SUSD Academics Department Teaching and Learning Department communicates the expectations of state and District content standards and provides ongoing professional development to promote best practices for teaching and learning.

All content areas in SUSD teach the Arizona State Standards, specific to each grade level and course. For more information on the Arizona Department of Education Academic State Standards, please visit the Arizona Department of Education website.  We believe as partners in education, establishing a relationship between teachers and families for important conversations about curriculum is essential.  Therefore, we encourage parents/guardians to attend elementary and middle school curriculum nights and parent teacher conferences.  Outside of coordinated district events, to learn more about and to discuss materials being used for learning, we encourage parents/guardians to:

  • Review course material shared via a classroom website or course syllabus (common to MS/HS)
  • Contact the classroom/subject matter teacher(s)

Parents/Community Members are welcome to schedule an appointment with the Teaching and Learning Department to view the district adopted Core Curriculum and approved supplemental instructional resources and materials via phone or may complete a request to view instructional resources and materials google form to schedule an appointment.  ARS 15-102(A)(7).
