The Scottsdale Unified School District is proud to offer a robust Advanced Placement (AP) program, providing students with the opportunity to engage in college-level coursework and earn college credit while still in high school. SUSD AP Course Offerings

We offer a diverse range of AP courses across our high schools, ensuring that students can explore subjects that excite and inspire them.

Here are some of the AP courses available:
  • STEM: AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Computer Science
  • Humanities: AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Government and Politics
  • Arts: AP Studio Art, AP Music Theory
  • World Languages: AP Spanish Language, AP French Language, and more

How to Enroll in AP Courses

  1. Speak with Your Counselor: Work with your counselor to identify AP courses that align with your interests, goals, and academic readiness.
  2. Meet Prerequisites: Ensure you meet the necessary prerequisites for the courses you’re interested in.
  3. Commit to the Challenge: AP courses require dedication and effort. Be ready to push yourself to succeed!

AP Exam Information

  • Exam Dates: AP exams are administered annually in May.
  • Costs: The cost of each exam is set by the College Board. Financial assistance is available for eligible students—contact your school counselor for more information.
  • Exam Scoring: AP exams are scored on a 1–5 scale. Most colleges award credit for scores of 3 or higher, but requirements vary by institution.
