A Kiva teacher's family provided babysitting for me and my sister, and learned some extra things while they did. I kept in touch will all my Kiva teachers while they remained there through my high school years. I remain in touch with my high school teachers as I have provided support for them in and out of the classroom. One in particular catalyzed my whole career: Richard Peterson, retired Chaparral Honors/AP Chemistry teacher. The first groups of students I tutored were from his class while I, too, was a student. 15-years later, I am doing the same thing and loving it.
