Copper Ridge School Follows All SUSD & ADE Policies and statutes on attendance.
Arizona law requires students between the ages of six and sixteen to attend a school. The right and privilege of attending public school carries with it certain responsibilities on the part of both the parent/guardian and students.
School attendance is ultimately the responsibility of the student and his/her family. Students should be absent from school only when absolutely necessary, as much of the classroom activity cannot be made up; the benefit of lectures, discussions and participation is lost forever to those who are absent. It is the responsibility of the school personnel to keep the parents informed of actions that might have a detrimental effect upon the educational growth of the student. Regular attendance is the key to much of the success a student may gain from his/her educational program. Copper Ridge will send out attendance notifications when certain absence thresholds are met (5, 7, 10, 13, 15 and 18 days).
Also, please keep in mind when a student enters a class tardy (after 8:40am) they are disrupting the learning opportunities of all the other students. Your cooperation in preserving the learning environment for all students would be much appreciated.
