East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT)
If you or your student is interested in learning more about EVIT, please check out this recorded presentation done by our previous, EVIT representative, Mr. Blair Howland: Recorded EVIT Presentation
EVIT is an AdvancED accredited career and technical school serving district, charter and home-schooled high school students who reside in 11 East Valley school districts. Students from Scottsdale SUSD can spend a half-day at EVIT in a career training program and the other half-day at their home high school.
EVIT adds to a student's academic instruction with hands-on learning provided by experienced professionals and excellent resources. By allowing students to earn elective credit in more than 40 occupation-specific programs, EVIT enhances the future of every type of student. Most programs prepare students for state or national licensing or certifications, internship opportunities and over 300 dual enrollment college credits.
Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are open as of November 1, 2022. Please see below for the high school enrollment process:
Please note: EVIT is moving to a modified, year-round calendar, so dates will not line up with SUSD's schedule, exactly. EVIT has not finalized their schedule for next year. We will be sure to send out an update as soon as we have more information. If you apply and are accepted, your acceptance is not binding – you can change your mind at a later date.
When applying online, the following required documents should be requested in advance, as they will need to be uploaded to complete the application process:
• Attendance Record
• Discipline Record
• Current Unofficial Transcripts
• Proof of Immunizations
*Your counselor will provide your attendance record, discipline record, and current, unofficial transcript, upon request. Hopefully, you have a copy of your immunizations but if you do not, you can request a copy from the school nurse - Nurse Haley Mcmackin (email@example.com). Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for processing.
Complete and submit the online application. Parents and/or legal guardians of new students will need an active email account (that is checked regularly) to access and use the online registration system. EVIT prefers personal email. They do not want students using their school email address. The email account provided will be used for important communication updates from the East Valley Institute of Technology.
The EVIT Admissions Office will inform students via e-mail once the application has been approved, or if additional information is required to complete the application.
Students are welcome to contact the Admissions Office with questions or to schedule an appointment with an EVIT Counselor. Please call 480-461-4108.
