• Strategic Planning Banner

  • Much of the past year has been spent navigating the significant challenges posed by the global coronavirus pandemic.  While the work of ensuring the health and safety of our students, teachers and staff continues, it is time to also turn our attention to planning for Scottsdale Unified’s future.

Rather than accept our current standing and identify possible incremental improvements, it is the goal of the SUSD Governing Board and Superintendent Menzel to undertake a broad, wide-ranging, future-focused planning process that engages the Scottsdale community at-large to articulate a vision for the District’s future that is both aspirational and inspirational.  If SUSD is to fulfill its mission of “Ensuring All Individual Learners Reach Their Full Potential,” the way we teach today must reflect the world in which our students will compete tomorrow.

SUSD’s strategic planning process will be conducted in three phases, starting with revisiting our mission, as well as the vision and values that are foundational to building a compelling picture of SUSD’s preferred future. A Strategic Planning Design Team has been named to guide the overall process.  Its members’ names are listed below.  The District will also reach out in the coming months to gather input from the broader community, creating an inclusive and engaging process that results in a compelling vision for SUSD’s future.
