Anasazi Recognized as State Winner in Handwriting Contest
Posted by SUSD Communications on 6/09/2020
Anasazi Elementary School was recognized as a state winner in the 2020 Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest.
Student Parker Vigneau was also named Arizona’s 3rd grade winner of the annual contest, making Anasazi the only school in the Phoenix metro area to have a statewide winner this year. The success of the Zaner-Bloser program at Anasazi is due in great part to a community volunteer, Marilyn Harrer.
Nearly a quarter of a million students nationwide take part in the annual competition. Despite the digital age in which we live, handwriting is still a key foundational skill for literacy development.
