Arcadia Senior Wins Valley Metro's 'Design a Transit Wrap' Art Contest

Arcadia High School teacher Dianna Cure's Graphic Design and Advertising Art students take part each year in Valley Metro’s ‘Design a Transit Wrap’ student art competition.
Valley high school students are invited to create designs to cover – or wrap around - an entire Valley Metro vehicle. The design must promote the benefits of public transportation and help develop a new generation of passengers. They must also come up with a catchy, one-sentence slogan for the design.
This year, not only did Arcadia students Ryan Jaramillo and Colin Martin receive rare Honorable Mention recognition for their submissions this year, senior Kate Flores won the contest’s first prize!
For her winning design and Dr. Seuss-inspired slogan (“Oh the Places You’ll Go on Valley Metro”), Kate will receive $750 AND her design appear on a Valley Metro bus and a light rail vehicle for an entire year. We have a feeling Kate is ‘going places,’ too!
