IB Middle Years Programme

  • The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world.

Mountainside Middle School and Desert Mountain High School are IB MYP candidate schools for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. In preparation for final authorization, Mountainside and Desert Mountain have been sending administrators and educators for IB MYP training as well as preparing the school schedule and course catalog to reflect the changes that will accommodate the implementation of the MYP program.  All sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students at Mountainside are learners in the IB MYP program. Students entering  Desert Mountain in  grades 9 and 10 may apply to the IB MYP Program.  Desert Mountain will offer this program as a school, within a school.
