SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 25, 2023) – Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) will host Town Hall meetings in each of its five learning communities, beginning next week, regarding the November 7 Maintenance and Operations (M&O) override special election.
SUSD is asking voters to reauthorize the current M&O override that will expire in June 2025. Voters approved the current override in 2019. The renewed override would cost the owner of an average home in the district $173.78 per year. The Arizona Department of Revenue State and County Abstract puts an average Scottsdale home’s value at $523,750.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 4, 2023) – Securing opportunities for students to learn and succeed is our top priority. “Because kids,” SUSD is committed to creating safe and secure learning environments in which students can thrive. School safety and security is a shared responsibility reliant on our vigilant students, staff, parents and law enforcement partners.
“To promote this culture of safety, we encourage our school communities to be active participants in keeping our schools safe,” said Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) Security Director Josh Friedman. “We ask that they be aware and immediately report any activity that appears to be suspicious, to the district and local law enforcement agencies.”
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 4, 2023) – Since the last school year ended in May, the hallways and playgrounds at Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) have been mostly absent of students, teachers and staff, but not absent of activity. Far from it.
Summertime is the time when annual maintenance and cleaning work is performed by SUSD Facilities staff, educators add to their professional teaching skills, district and school administrators create priorities for the new school year, and schools complete their staff and classroom rosters. The summer of 2023 has also seen the implementation of new SUSD transportation, safety and security, nutrition, and communications systems, and the near-completion of the 2016 bond’s final, major construction projects at Pueblo and Tavan Elementary schools.
