In its continuing efforts to provide exceptional customer services, the Scottsdale Unified School District provides translation and interpretation services to parents whose primary language is not English. In order to comply with Federal guidelines and to provide these services, the SUSD Translation and Interpretation Department has developed procedures in communicating with National Origin parents.

What is a Translator?

An interpreter is a person who establishes, either simultaneously or consecutively, oral communication between two or more people who are not speaking the same language.

A translator is one who transfers written text from the source language, and produces a new equivalent text in the target language.  The final product is called the translation.
