SUSD Appoints New Principals, Administrators for ’06-2007
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 2, 2006) - Students at two of SUSD’s elementary schools will see a new face in the principal’s office when school begins on August 21st.
John Francois has been named Principal at Cochise Elementary. Francois has served as Assistant Principal at the campus since 2005 and also worked at Desert Canyon Middle School. Francois replaces Diane Smith, who retired at the end of the 2005-2006 school year.
Kevin Hill takes the reigns at Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center. Hill comes to SUSD from The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students in Peoria where he served as principal since 1999. Prior to his work at The Austin Centers, Hill was as a principal in the Peoria Unified School District. He replaces Carolyn Repp who retired at the end of last school year.
The 2006-2007 school year also marks the opening of the Copper Ridge Math and Science Academy at DC Ranch. Dr. Michael Wolf, longtime SUSD administrator, will serve as dean at the school.
At the district level, David Peterson, Chief of Facilities Management, will now also oversee the district’s finances. As Chief of Business and Facility Services, Peterson replaces CFO Bob Flach who retired at the end of last school year. Peterson joined SUSD in 2005 after several years with Mesa Public Schools.
