Talking to your teenager about dating just got easier

One of the toughest conversations a parent will have with their teenager will be about dating. Scottsdale Unified School District and The Waypoint Group will help take the guess work out of this highly sensitive topic – Teenage Dating: the Romance & the Risks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Chaparral High School’s auditorium, 6935 E. Gold Dust Ave., Scottsdale.

This informative presentation will focus on adolescence, which is a critical period for children to learn about relationships, personal connections and social skills. One of the most daunting aspects of raising adolescents is the onset of teenage dating. This presentation will provide parents and teachers with an examination of both the developmental function of teenage dating and the inherent challenges and risks.

The presentation will be given by The Waypoint Group. The Waypoint Group provides specialized mental health, consulting, and training services to assist individuals, families, businesses and organizations in navigating change.

In addition, teachers who attend the presentation can receive Career Ladder hours or staff development points, as well as recertification credits.
