Talking to your teens about sex just got easier

Scottsdale Unified School District invites parents, teachers, administrators and community members to attend the Parent/Teacher Academy workshop entitled Let's Talk about Sex at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in the auditorium at Chaparral High School, 6935 E. Gold Dust Ave., Scottsdale.

Sex can be difficult to talk about, especially for parents and teens. This highly informative workshop will provide parents with the essentials for this important conversation. It will include an overview of trends, behaviors, and research on adolescent sexual issues. Participants will increase their understanding of sexual issues facing our youth today. An overview of our district's Sexuality Education program will be provided.

In addition, teachers who attend the presentation can receive Career Ladder hours or staff development points, as well as recertification credits.

This workshop will be repeated on Wednesday, March 30 at Arcadia High School.
