Governing Board approves in-house
attorney and technology director
The Governing Board approved the appointments
of Kim Clark as the executive director of Legal Affairs and Ernest
Nicely as the new director of Informational Technology Services
at the Sept. 7 Board meeting.
Kim Clark was selected as the new executive director
of Legal Services bringing eight years of experience with her. Ms.
Clark came to Scottsdale Unified School District form Steptoe &
Johnson, LLP where she was an associate in Labor and Employment
practices.
Prior to that position, Ms. Clark was the executive
director of non-profit coalition of homeless and social services
for the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness. In addition, she
has been employed at the Community Legal Services, Snell & Wilmer,
LLP and Latham & Watkins, LLP.
Ms. Clark graduated from the University of Arizona in 1992 with
a Bachelor in Arts degree in Russian Language with summa cum laude
honors. She also graduated from Harvard Law School in 1995 with
cum laude honors.
Ms. Clark is a member of the State Bar of Arizona,
State Bar of California, Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern
Arizona Board of Directors and Harvard Club of Phoenix Board of
Directors.
Ernest Nicely has been chosen as the new director
of Informational Technology Services bringing 26 years of experience
to the position. Mr. Nicely came to Scottsdale schools from Mesa
Public Schools where he was the director of Information Systems
for six years.
Prior to that position, Mr. Nicely was the director of Computer
and Technology Support Services for Phoenix Elementary School District.
He has also been employed at Innovative System Design, Ltd., Tempe
Elementary School District, IBM Corporation and Courier Terminal
Systems, Inc.
Mr. Nicely earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in Business Administration, Quantitative Systems major with an emphasis
on Computer Information Systems and Statistical Analysis from Arizona
State University.
He is an active member of the Arizona Association
of School Business Officials.
