National Merit recognizes 64 SUSD students

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (October 4, 2005) -- Thirty Scottsdale Unified School District students have qualified as National Merit Semifinalists and another 34 have received letters of commendation.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Program, about 16,000 students, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT®, qualify as semifinalists.

Arcadia High School
David Hildebrand, Brittany Fenney, and Wylie Timmerman.

Chaparral High School
Allison Bobman, Misuaki Chi, Judith Fan, Brandon Jones, Matthew Roe and Sharee Hollis.

Coronado High School
Olivia Gersten.

Desert Mountain High School
Kelly Bennion, Carly Bertrand, Ann Chang, Nicholas DeStefino, Shelby Edens, Zachary Greenberg, Meagan Herzog, Kevin Holzman, Katie Largent, Kelly Matush, Jenna Miller, Archana Reddy, Lindsey Thompson, Rex Williams, Kimberly Yang, and Jiaona Zhang.

Another 34 students from SUSD received letters of commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.
