Second graders learn importance of staying healthy, safe
Approximately 2,000 second graders from Scottsdale Unified School District will participate in Health World’s Keeping Your Health on Track on Feb. 22 through March 1 at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
Keeping Your Health on Track was designed to provide children with information they need to build healthy and safe lives. “This is a fun way to introduce health and safety topics to children to get them excited about learning,” said Peter Rusin, executive director of Health World.
Students will participate in interactive activities, including Senses Sensation; Clean Machine; Safety and First Aid Awareness; Water Safety; Operation Life Saver; Home Fire Safety; Good Choice, Bad Choice: Character Counts; Say No to Tobacco; and Eating Right, Staying Fit.
Keeping Your Health on Track is sponsored by Scottsdale Unified School District, Scottsdale Charros, Ryan Lange Foundation and McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
Health World has been teaching Keeping Your Health on Track to SUSD students for the past four years. Health World is a locally-based organization that champions children’s safety and health by fighting against preventable causes that lead to their premature death, disabling injury and diminished quality of life.
