Steps to Family Fitness Workshop

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (October 25, 2005) – Scottsdale Unified School District invites parents, teachers and community members to attend The Academy workshop entitled Steps to Family Fitness at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, November 2, in the Media Center at Coronado High School, 2501 N. 74th St., Scottsdale.

This session will address nutrition, physical activity, sun safety, injury prevention and the emotional aspects of maintaining a healthy weight.

This program will be presented by Scottsdale Health Care. Scottsdale Healthcare's mission is to identify and meet the healthcare needs of the community and to meet or exceed patients' expectations of service.

In addition, teachers who attend the presentation can receive Career Ladder hours or staff development points, as well as recertification credits.

Future Academy topics include bullying and violence prevention, stress management for adolescents, teen dating: the romance & the risks, substance use and prevention and more.
