Community Dialogue on School Excellence Community Dialogues will be held in January to bring the community together under a common goal of providing the best possible schools for Scottsdale students. “We must address all of our challenges and bring this community together,” Dr. Baracy said. “We are looking to get the best ideas from people who truly care about our children.” All members of the community are invited to participate in the community dialogue. To sign up, call the Arizona Prevention Resource Center at 480-727-2772 and indicate your interest in participating in the Scottsdale Unified School District’s Community Dialogue. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Those who sign up will be divided into six teams and asked to take part in three meetings in January at the district’s Education Center, 3811 N. 44th St., Phoenix. Participants will talk about what a good education means to each of them and discuss how our students and schools are doing. They also will create a picture of a community where all students can do their best and discuss how to make those visions take place. In the final session, on Jan. 27, participants from all six teams will meet together to discuss action ideas. Participants will have a chance to remain involved and work together to put those plans into action. “We are looking for input on how we can improve and meet our mission of having all of our schools rated as Excelling,” Dr. Baracy said. “This community dialogue will allow us to achieve that by helping us to understand concerns from across Scottsdale and working toward common solutions for the benefit of everyone.” Below are the scheduled meeting dates for the six teams. All meetings are scheduled to take place from 5-7:30 p.m.
