Bullying/Violence Prevention Workshop
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (November 3, 2005) – Scottsdale Unified School District invites parents, teachers and community members to attend The Academy workshop entitled Bullying/Violence Prevention at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, November 8, in the Media Center at Arcadia High School, 4703 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
At this session, you will learn ways to help equip children and adolescents with effective alternatives when dealing with violence and intimidation.
This program will be presented by the Scottsdale Prevention Institute (SPI). SPI is a private non-profit organization that serves more than 20,000 children, youth and families each year. SPI provides a wide range of services from prevention, intervention and support for clients ages five to eighteen. The agency also works closely with and helps shape the major systems that impact the young people and families in the community. SPI is involved in such diverse areas as mental heath, juvenile justice, positive youth development and education.
In addition, teachers who attend the presentation can receive Career Ladder hours or staff development points, as well as recertification credits.
