Students to perform in 14th annual Jazz on the Mountainside Festival

Band students from Copper Ridge, Mountainside and Supai middle schools and Coronado, Desert Mountain and Saguaro high schools will perform in the 14th annual Jazz on the Mountainside Festival on March 22-23.

  • 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., on Tuesday, March 22, in the mini auditorium at Mountainside Middle School, 11256 N. 128th St., Scottsdale.
  • 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m., on Tuesday, March 22, in the auditorium at Desert Mountain High School, 12575 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale.
  • 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on Wednesday, March 23 in the mini auditorium at Mountainside Middle School, 11256 N. 128th St., Scottsdale.

Students will perform American Jazz, including swing, blues, funk, Latin, ballads and a variety of eclectic and ethnic music. For this fee public event, students will be conducted by their band directors – Tony Masiello, Copper Ridge Middle School; Russ Capri, Mountainside Middle School; Sally Dubensky, Supai Middle School; Leslie Rich, Coronado High School; Michelle Irvin and Shultz Bennett, Desert Mountain High School and Michael R. Miller, Saguaro High School.

Scottsdale middle and high school students were invited to attend the concert. Other Valley schools represented in the concert are Altadena and Kyrene middle schools and Kino Junior High School.
