NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING/EXECUTIVE SESSION THURSDAY, MAY

UNIFIED DISTRICT #48 GOVERNING BOARD
Notice is hereby given to the members of the Governing Board and to the general public that on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 3:30 PM, in the Education Center Board Room, 3811 North 44th Street, Phoenix, Arizona, the Governing Board will hold a Special Meeting and pursuant to A.R.S. §15-843(B), may vote to convene in Executive Session. If authorized by majority vote of the Governing Board, the Executive Session will be held immediately after the vote. The Executive Session will not be open to the public.

Approval of
Desert Mountain High School Block Schedule Recommendation: It is recommended that the
Governing Board approve the Site-Team’s recommendation to not offer
block courses at Desert Mountain High School for the 2003-2004 school
year, except for those courses that will be necessary to meet the needs
of next year’s graduating seniors.

Vote to convene
in Executive Session for:
A.
Discussion/consultation
with the Board’s designated representatives in order to consider the
Board’s position and instruct its representatives regarding negotiations
with employee organization(s) regarding the salaries, salary schedules
or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits of its employees
and other terms and conditions of employment, so that those representatives
can properly represent the Board in upcoming “Meet and Confer” sessions,
pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(5).
B.
An appeal regarding
the Hearing Officer’s Recommendation for Student #102794.
C.
An appeal regarding
the Hearing Officer’s Recommendation for Student #12103.

Reconvene Special
Meeting.
