The Governing Board voted to approve the consolidation of the current Zuni Elementary and Aztec Elementary school boundaries as the new boundary for the Zuni site and the relocation of Cheyenne Traditional School to the current Aztec site.
Cheyenne will continue to be a choice school serving K-8 students who live within the boundaries of the District.
Further, it is recommended that the Governing Board authorize the Administration to develop a transition plan. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
Additionally, Kevin Price, director of Audit Services, provided the Governing Board with a quarterly update that included work completed in the previous quarter and work scheduled for the next quarter. In other action, the Governing Board:
- Approved Revisions to the 2009-10 High School Planning Guide. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
- Accepted gifts valued at $19,821. The gifts were received from Desert Canyon Elementary PTO, Sequoya APT, Alfaro Concrete, Global Impact, Intel Foundation, Scottsdale Charros, Southern Poverty Law Center, Meredith Stewart and Wells Fargo.
A Special Governing Board Meeting/Board Training/New Member Oath of Office is scheduled for 9 a.m. on December 15. The next regular Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on December 16 at the Education Center.
